BTW BALL Q&A
Q: I’m sure you got this question more than once, but what did you have to do to get to the pit? Like when did you guys line up and did you have GA tickets? Is it hard to get in? And now many fans were already lined up? Sorry for so many questions and I would prefer if you would answer this privately! Thanks :) and congrats on meeting mommy!
A: To get in the pit, this is what you’ll need/have to do: Have GA tickets & Be there 8am on the day of the concert or earlier(questions about the queuing system further down)
I don’t know what you mean by “hard to get in” if you’re there relatively early you’ll get into the pit. What “early” means are different from country to country of course. Try to find more monsters in your area and get there together. That’s the easiest thing.
When me, Josie, Angelica and Simon arrived there were about 35 people in line (this was 8-9pm the day before) and thank you <3
Q: I thought you weren’t allowed to line up at the venue before 8am to get into the monster pit? Xxx
Q: : I have a doubt! In the BTW Ball site it says you can’t queue before 8 am of the day of the show if you wanna get into the Monster Pit… How did you do to get into there coming at 8 pm the day before? Thank you! (And sorry for my bad English! ^^’)
A: These are Live Nation’s rules. Gaga has nothing to do with them, neither does the Haus or the rest of her team. It’s very different venue to venue. If you suspect you’ll be one of the first or the first to arrive, call the arena and ask if it’s ok to camp outside somewhere. You’re not allowed to camp within the venue area, but hopefully you’ll find a spot nearby where arriving Monsters can see you. If you work out a number system and keep track of each other, it should work out fine. And there should be no problems when you all arrive to the “real” line on the morning of the concert. Just be there in time! The key holder in Copenhagen, Linda, was really great with this! She had worked out a great system, wrote down our cell phone numbers and all, we even had a gathering every 4 hours our so to see that everyone’s still there.
Q: So you met her! I’m very happy for you! I thought I should go like 4 days before to get to be the first in the queue. I saw you got there just 1 day before! Do you think I’m exaggerating? I’m going to the only italian one.
A: Thank you sweetie! I’d say there’s a really big chance to get first in line if you’re there 4 days before! Linda got there 4 or 5 days before, so. But then again, I don’t know how Italian Monsters are.
Q: omggggg youre so luckyy im very very happy for youuuu!! i hope i have the same luck when i go to my btwb in octoberrr!! why did you get picked?? because of your signs?? ahh so exciting!!
A: Thank you so much peanut!! <3 and I really hope you’ll have the same luck too! We had signs, yes. But I think it’s important to try to get her attention through the whole concert. Dance like crazy, have a good time, basically. And also, I got my lace/pearl mask on and said this in the letter I had in this book my friends gave her when they met her backstage in Stockholm. Don’t know if that had something to do about it, but you never know. But my number 1 tip to get backstage: Dance like crazy, have a good time, try to get eye contact often, throw gifts up on stage after Bad Kids and/or have inspiring and funny signs. This is pretty much the only way if you’re not the key holder.
Q: Did you go backstage and meet Lady Gaga?
Q: do you think I’ll still get backstage if I don’t dress up? I’m planning on going a day in advance and I live too far from the venue to really be able to. I need to meet her more than anything in this world and I’m scared I wont get to
A: Of course! The BTW Ball is not about “dressing up” it’s about having the time of your life, celebrate being YOU. If you don’t like dressing up, then don’t.
Q: At 2am roughly how many people were in the pit queue?
A: In Copenhagen? 40-50 people. But then again there’s a lot of superfans in Scandinavia. It’s very different from country to country (and from state to state)
Q: For the ball in London, on the website for the stadium, the rules say queuing before 8am will result in disqualification for chance to be in the monster pit, did the ball you went to have anything like this on the rules?
A: Yes. Read answer for question 2.
Q: im so happy for you! i m freaking out haha . were you guys like front and center?! Ha
A: Thank youuuuu! We were almost in the centre of stage, but more on the right side. On the second row.
Q: i’m literally sitting here so jealous of you, but so happy! I hope I’m as fortunate as you when Gaga comes to the US! I know you might have said it already, but how many hours did you wait for the front of the pit?
A: Aw cutie. Your day will come too, as long as you believe in it! You mean how long I queued for? 24 hours.
Q: how early did you go to wait in line?
A: Got there the night before. That will get you in the Monster Pit. But you never know where in the pit. We got second row and felt extremely lucky tbh. If you wanna be sure to get fron row in the Pit, be there at least 1,5 day before!
Q: Where is the best place to stand in the front? Right or left stage?
A: If you can’t get in the centre, aim for right side! When you throw gifts up after Bad Kids, that’s Amanda’s side. Asiel tends to lean a bit and he won’t see the Monsters on the far left.
Q: How did the guards know which ones Gaga said could go backstage? How long we’re y’all backstage with Gaga?
A: That’s the real stress factor tbh, you never know if the guards spotted all of the Monsters she pointed out. But Asiel is really good with pointing everyone out when the guards come running. As soon as Gaga’s point you out, stretch out your arm so the guard see you. He’ll put on a paper bracelet.
We were backstage with her for about 15-20 minutes.
Q: oh my gahhd that video of her saying DON’T CRY AAAAAWWHAAW!, she said that to you? YOU LUCKY. She is SO CUTE!!
A: Yes haha. I didn’t notice she said it to me at the time. Just heard the last sentence “Why are you crying??” and looked up, she was looking in my direction but I didn’t dare to hope it was me. But I suspected it. My friends told me afterwards it was really me she was talking with and I died again.
Q: But where are the pictures of gaga and you?
A: It seems like she’s only taking one-on-one photos with the key holder nowadays, and then group shots for the slumber party!
Q: Amazing post about your backstage experience!! I am so happy for you!! It’s got me so excited about going backstage! I just wanna know, were Monsters aloud to bring cameras backstage to take their own photos with Gaga? Don’t worry if you can’t remember, I bet the whole experience was a blur! Thanks in advance! Xx
A: Thank you! :’) We weren’t exactly told to leave our things outside, but you’re not allowed to take pictures yourself as far as I know. If you ask Gaga tho she’ll probably say “yes of course!” But I’m not sure haha. Her assistant takes group shots of you and you leave your email so they can send them to you. In Stockholm tho, my friends signed a contract and it seemed like they’d get paid every time their picture got posted or something, I dunno. Didn’t get that part.
Q: oh my god! your story about meeting Gaga is the most beautiful thing ever. like seriously, i felt tears on my cheeks. I’m so happy for you :”)
A: Awww peanut! Thank you so much!
Q: OH MY GOD I LOVED READING ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE!!! How long were you down there for? I mean what time did you finally leave the stadium? And you said you got there at 1PM the day of the concert and made it in? I’m going on the 29th in Antwerp and I hope I get to go backstage!
A: haha I’M GLAD YOU LIKED IT!!! I don’t know when we left or even when the concert was over tbh, all I know is that the merch sellers was packing their things so we couldn’t buy anything, I know I got super sad for that. Even tho I’d just met Gaga. The brain of a Monster I guess haha. But I could guess and say we left around 1am?
No, I got there around 8.30pm the night before!
Q: I just read your post about the BTWB and omg i’m so happy for you. That sounds so wonderful! congratulations :)
A: Thank you! <3
Q: HI ! Vancouver dates are out, do you know if the tickets are on sale yet ? or when they will be? :$ shes only coming for one day and I DO NOT want to miss it. D: Please private message me back <3 goodseattickets (thats a website) has it, but i dont know if its legit :$
A: I’m sorry, I have no idea! But the dates just came out so I don’t think you can buy tickets just yet. Usually they’re on sale a week after announcement but I don’t know for sure. Please promise me you’ll buy the tickets from a place you know it’s 100% safe. I’d hate it if you got fakes and didn’t get in. That happened to a girl in Stockholm and it was fucking heartbreaking.
Q: only people from the the pit can go backstage right? :/
A: Not necessarily! People standing near the catwalk on the other side have been picked too from time to time. And when she’s picking people for Marry The Night, it could be from anywhere on the floor.
Q: i’m in tears, i’m so happy for you. you described every little detail. thank you
A: You’re so cute. Thank you. I really did my best. I want to share this with everyone. Because we’re in this together.
Thank you for all your questions and all your kind words! I hope you’re satisfied and I that could help all of you. And I’d like to end this post with: The most important thing is to ENJOY the show. I know there’s a lot of stress before and maybe even during the concert. But please don’t forget: Gaga is in the same room as you. She’s standing in front of you. This should be enough for you to have the time of your life! Dance like crazy. Forget all of your problems and all of your insecurities. Celebrate the fuck out of everything. Feel the music, feel alive. You have 2 hours to behave as a ratchet slut so do your fucking best! ARTPOP IS COMING.

GOVERNMENT HOOKER @ THE BORN THIS WAY BALL
Her concert in Jakarta, Indonesia already got canceled because of protests and threats from the Islamic groups in the country. Now Antonio Calixto, the mayor of Manila, sends warnings to Gaga about her upcoming visit with her Born This Way Ball tour in the Philippines. He said Gaga shouldn’t perform naked, curse or say anything that could offend religion.
”Even if we respect artistic and musical expressions, I will not allow individuals or groups to commit acts that may be questioned in any way.”
He also claims that religious groups in the Philippines have expressed concerns about the concert and that a group of Christian Bible students as late as Friday protested against her song “Judas”.
For now, it seems like she will be allowed to perform as long as she compromises with the government.
Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way Ball” launched with a controversial bang last week when the pop diva took the stage at Seoul, South Korea’s Olympic Stadium in front of 45,000 screaming fans.
All of those fans were adults, as we reported earlier, because the Korea Media Rating Board elevated the age rating for the concert from 12 to 18, prohibiting minors from seeing the show. The Board did not offer a reason why the show – which at the time of the imposed age restriction was still in rehearsals and has not been reviewed publicly – was considered unsuitable for children under 18.
Later, as the concert neared, the likely catalyst for the board’s decision came more into focus as protests from a group of conservative Christians calling itself the Alliance for Sound Culture in Sexuality ramped up. The group papered Seoul with posters accusing Gaga of “spreading unhealthy sexual culture” through “lewd lyrics and performances.”
So there’s that.
The news today though is that her elaborate stage is the “largest scenic structure that’s ever been built to tour,” according to US Weekly. The stage, designed by Gaga and her creative team Haus of Gaga, took several months to construct and includes an enclosed area surrounded by a catwalk known as “The Monster Pit,” a general admission area for hardcore fans who arrive early to the show. The very first Little Monster to arrive is given a commemorative key for the pit. The stage is modeled after a Gothic castle featuring viewing towers, intricate carvings and other medieval trappings.
BTW Ball stage in Hong Kong. The show will start in about 10 minutes!

April 27, 2012.
“In 1978, Larry Flynt acclaimed that women would no longer be treated as meat on the cover of Hustler magazine. In the Born this Way Ball, that’s precisely how we treat them…Wanna see my Poker Face?”
-Lady Gaga, Born This Way Ball 2012
“The stage set for the Born This Way Ball is the largest scenic structure that’s ever been built to tour.” says James “Winky” Fairorth, CEO of Tait Towers “The precise architectural detail was not compromised at all due to the global touring schedule, and the structure can be built using no tools or loose fasteners during assembly.”
And the stage show is said to be CRAY CRAY! Here’s what we know: the stage and set have many capabilities and functions including 30 active windows and doors, each with a custom scenic painted roll drop which will reveal different scenes within the various rooms of the Castle, two swing walls which open to reveal the 50 foot tall castle behind it, 620 feet of custom LED lights and two sets of automated castle gates that open and close to a full 180degrees.
Moving this massive set-up from place to place has also proved to be quite the undertaking. It takes fifteen 53 foot long tractor trailers to move the castle and the main stage and there are approximately 200 set carts that all of the elements travel in. To put that in perspective, if all of the set carts were lined up end to end, they would span approximately 1600 feet in length, the equivalent of over 5 football fields.
In other words, if you want to be entertained, this is one show you won’t want to miss!
